About

The 2026 Conference of the Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information takes place under the theme “Aligning policy and practical implementation”. It brings together signatories, supporters, and other stakeholders working to advance open research information across institutional contexts.

The conference invites presentations and posters that share experiences, lessons learned, and reflections on successes and setbacks in adopting and using open research information. Submissions are especially encouraged to address the relationship between policy and practice, and how both can reinforce the transition to open research information.

The call for proposals is open until 1 September 2026. Acceptance notifications are planned for 15 September 2026, with registration opening on 22 September 2026. The organisers note a maximum capacity of 100 participants in person and 100-300 participants online.

A dedicated satellite meeting for German-speaking and DACH-region participants is tentatively planned for 26 November 2026 at a separate venue in Berlin.
