About
The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation is hosting an online workshop on the economic impact of policy options for improving access to and reuse of research results, publications, and data for scientific purposes.
The workshop presents findings from an economic study launched in the context of structural policy 1 of the European Research Area Policy Agenda 2025-2027. The study complements the 2024 report Improving access to and reuse of research results, publications and data for scientific purposes and analyses the economic impact of policy measures related to an EU-wide secondary publication right and a harmonised research exception to EU copyright rules.
The programme includes an introduction by Jean-David Malo, Acting Director at DG RTD, a presentation and Q&A with the study team, and concluding remarks by Fabian Kreuzer, Deputy Head of Unit for Open Science and Research Infrastructures at DG RTD. The topic is relevant to NAIF because it connects open science policy, research infrastructure, rights frameworks, and the practical reuse of research outputs.
